Editor:

It is with warm and heartfelt thanks that I wish to thank the people of Payson, and the vendors and visitors to the Rim Country, for their great response in attending the Eighth Mountain High Days Art and Craft Bazaar, held in the local courthouse complex over the Memorial Day weekend.

It was the biggest and best fair to date with more than 77 vendors and 8,000 attending and enjoying the shopping bazaar.

In addition, I wish to thank Gila County Supervisors for the use of the area, the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce for publicity, KMOG radio and the Payson Roundup, APS for the donated trash containers and the cooperation and use of the post office parking area.

The annual Memorial Day weekend benefit show is one the community can be proud of as it brings in the best crafters from Payson and the western United States to the area, as well as dollars to our community, via sales tax, lodging and meals purchased.

Our next bazaar will be held over the Fourth of July weekend at Bison Ranch in Overgaard.

The Ninth Annual Zane Grey Days in Payson is scheduled for Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, again at the Courthouse.
