Ira "Art" Hancock, 82, died June 25, 2006 at Hospice in Payson.
He was born Aug. 1, 1923 in Lincoln, Ark. and came to Arizona at a very young age, working in and around the Phoenix area most of his adult life.
Mr. Hancock was a World War II veteran and a 48-year member of the Operating Engineers Local 428.
He is survived by son, Bill Hancock, daughter, Patricia Hancock, two grandsons, one great-granddaughter, and wife, Nancy, of Tonto Basin.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters, one half-sister, and son, Glenn.
His ashes will be interred at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
