Please do not feed the ducks and geese at Green Valley Park. Did you know that feeding waterfowl unnatural foods like bread and popcorn is dangerous to them?
It may seem like a harmless thing to do, but artificial feeding can cause poor nutrition, spread of disease, wing deformities, water pollution, delayed migration, unnatural behavior, costly management efforts, increased hybridization and death.
Believe it or not, they have all the food and nutrition they need in the park with worms, bugs and other insects that live in grass.
Please help us maintain healthy waterfowl and cleaner park facilities. Instead of feeding them, opt for using a camera or binoculars to get up close to the waterfowl.
