Sleep Disorders and Cardiovascular Disease

A Healthy Woman program, "Sleep Disorders and Cardiovascular Disease," will be presented at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, at the Senior Circle, 215 N. Beeline Highway. For more information or to register, call (928) 472-9290.

If there's a senior or seniors in your life with a special occasion coming up, and you are stymied for gift ideas, here's a suggestion that's bound to please. A $15 yearly membership to Senior Circle is perfect for persons 50 and older.

The recipient will be entitled to participate in a variety of social, informational and healthful activities, he or she will receive monthly newsletters and quarterly magazines, be kept informed of travel opportunities and can receive valuable discounts.

Antique and collectible sale

The Senior Thrift Store, in conjunction with the Payson Senior Center, will have an antique and collectibles show and sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 8, in the Center Dining Room, 514 W. Main St. Among items to be sold are china, kitchenware, Disney memorabilia, vintage linens, books, dolls, tools and much more. Donations are being accepted and receipts will be given to donors for tax purposes. If making donations for the event, let the receiving clerk know the items are specifically for the show and sale.

Bill Spangler, a Senior Benefits Specialist from the Pinal-Gila Council for Senior Citizens, is at the Center from 8 a.m. to noon, Tuesday through Friday, to help seniors with Medicare, Social Security and other benefit program issues.

Appointments usually are not necessary.
