Business nominations are being accepted for the Arizona Small Business Association's Arizona Companies to Watch awards.
The program honors "second stage growth companies," a growing business demographic in the Arizona marketplace," said Tom Fraker, ASBA's executive director.
Second stage growth companies are those that employ between 10 and 100 people and have between $750,000 and $100 million in annual revenue. An estimated 80,000 such businesses are in Arizona. According to the ASBA, these companies comprise a critical, often overlooked, driver of the state's economy.
Nominations may be made at www.azcompaniestowatch. org. The deadline is March 10. Nominated companies will receive a letter informing them of the nomination and requesting that they apply for the award. The application deadline is March 17.
ASBA is visiting National Bank of Arizona offices across the state this week to share the award opportunity.
Nominees will be judged by The Edward Lowe Foundation on innovativeness of the product or service, impact of the business on the job market, growth in number of employees, increase in sales and/or unit volume, current and past financial reports, response to adversity and contributions to community-aid oriented projects.
The awards ceremony is June 1 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix.
