Rachel Isbell, 74, of Payson, died March 4, 2006. She was born in Monkton, Vt. on Dec. 25, 1931, where she lived until she ventured west.
She met Marvin Isbell in Yosemite National Park, where they wed in the chapel on Aug. 2, 1952.
The couple owned two businesses in Payson: Alpine Kut and Kurl and BZB Nursery.
Mrs. Isbell retired 11 years ago. She and her husband enjoyed traveling. They had just returned from a trip to Hawaii with their son, Jim, just before her death.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Marvin; daughters, Darlene (Scott) Leininger, Marsha (David) Friedberg, and Nancy (Tim) Horn; son, Jim (Jennifer) Isbell; granddaughter Alysia (Justin) Dahir Davis; grandsons: Aaron (Jennifer) Dahir, Andrew Brumbaugh, Jeff (Virginia) Starrick, Matt and Grady Horn; and great-grandchildren Trenton and Zoie Davis.
Services were held March 11, 2006 in Apache Junction.
