The Rim Country Service Delivery Unit of the American Red Cross would like to thank the following organizations for their superior support in teaming with us in our operation of the emergency shelter set up on March 11 due to the heavy snows.
Thank you to the Payson Police Department and their volunteers for their security. Thank you to the Town Streets Department for plowing and keeping the parking lot and streets cleared of snow, also for coming to our rescue in transporting the Red Cross Disaster trailer to the shelter.
Thank you to the great people at Wal-Mart and Cucina Paradiso for supplying our clients with the necessary food to sustain us on a short notice call.
Thank you to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for donating their tables, and also the great support of Bobette Sylvester and her custodian staff of the Payson Unified School District for opening the old High School gym on short notice. Lastly, thank you to the many volunteers who made the shelter a place where the victims of this blizzard could come and feel safe and out of harms way.
Without the support and understanding of community responsibility by all support teams involved, this shelter could not have been the safe haven it turned out to be for the victims of this storm.
