Get A New 'Leash' On Life

Daily dog walking can help you drop 14 pounds a year, plus improve your flexibility, balance and self esteem. Having a beloved pet at your side who gives you unconditional love reduces blood pressure and anxiety. With this in mind, maybe we can tempt you to consider adopting one or more of our favorite characters! Or, if you can't adopt at this time, you can join our dog walker or cat stroker programs.

Allie is a 4-year-old spayed female Black Lab/Belgian Shepherd mix. Her easy care raven black coat is shiny and clean, and her ebony toenails match it perfectly. She has an enthusiastic, outgoing personality and loves people and other dogs. Allie has the fastest tail wag in the West. She is a strong girl, but walks nicely on a gentle leader harness, which discourages pulling. Allie would love a life with an active family that includes her in all they do, from hiking to camping and swimming. That way she will get plenty of exercise and be a happy, content girl.

Maple is a very cute 4-year-old spayed female Border Collie. She has a soft medium-length black coat with white trim, which will need minimal combing to keep it gleaming and clean. Maple has an agreeable and sunny disposition and is easy to handle on leash. She thrives on praise and is quite trainable. From our experience with her we feel she would do best as the only dog in the household. Maple loves affection and is looking for the warmth of a caring, permanent home.

Winston is a 5-year-old neutered male Boxer mix. He is just a dear boy, so well-mannered and biddable. He walks like a gentleman on leash and stays right by your side. He is a good-natured fellow who loves to be with people and gets along well with other dogs. He came to our shelter with his playmate Sasha. Winston loves to play in water, especially from the hose. It is quite likely that he is housebroken because he looks so healthy and well cared for.

Sasha is a charming 3-year-old spayed female Terrier mix. She has a wonderful soft blonde coat and the sweetest facial expression. This dog is a breeze to handle on leash. She is so well-behaved and loveable that she is hard to resist. Sasha is highly adoptable and will make some lucky family a lifetime companion. If you are looking for a twosome, she and Winston are best friends.

Buddy is a spectacular-looking 5-year-old neutered male British Shorthair cat. No one can help but comment on his beautiful striping and the lovely grey hues of his coat. He has been declawed front and back, so he needs to be an inside cat. He loves to have his head, back and tummy scratched. Buddy is a favorite puddy tat at our shelter among staff and volunteers.
