This week's offering of adoptable pets features five wonderful animals, all so very deserving of caring homes. Of course, we have more at the shelter. Do you have the time and patience to add a new member to your family? We hope so!

The following adoptable pets all have been spayed or neutered to ensure they will not contribute to pet overpopulation. Meet them at the Payson Humane Society animal shelter, 812 S. McLane Rd., or call 474-5590.

AMBER

Amber is a 1-year-old spayed gray tortie cat. She has a beautiful blended coat of gray and tan. She likes to lie in her bed and hide, but will come out for attention. She gets along well with the cats in her enclosure and at times she can be very playful. Please stop by the shelter and meet Amber. She would make a great companion for anyone who appreciates a fine feline.

BAILEY

Bailey is a loveable 6-year-old spayed female shepherd mix. She has a short brown and tan easy care coat. She has been an outside dog, but gladly comes inside when invited. She doesn't mind it if you brush her and even enjoys it. She has an agreeable disposition and loves to go for walks on leash. At first she is eager to go, but soon slows down and is easy to handle. Bailey loves to splash and cool off in the water when it's hot outside. She has fun playing tag with butterflies. She is looking for a caring, permanent home for the rest of her days.

GIRLIE

Girlie is lovely 10-year-old spayed female dark velvet tortie cat. She was brought to our shelter when her beloved caretaker passed away. Girlie is quite an amazing first-class cat, for she has traveled extensively with her lady friend to places all over the world. She even has a kitty passport. Girlie is one of those cats who loves to sleep under a blanket. She is the dearest, most affectionate kitty ever. She hopes she can pick up the pieces of her life and start anew with someone as wonderful as her dear mistress.

KATIE

Katie is an 8-month-old spayed black and tan shepherd mix. She came in as a stray and doesn't understand why no one came to find her. She is a wonderful dog, gentle but playful. She gets along well with the other dogs at the shelter. Each day, Katie looks forward to the time that the volunteer dog walkers spend with her. She looks forward to going home with a family who would include her in their daily lives. Please come and visit Katie, she will tug at your heart.

MOLLY

Molly is a lovely 2-year-old spayed female Australian cattle dog. She is pure white except for caramel-colored markings on her head and faint spots on her back. Her white ears are so cute with freckles all over them when viewed from behind. Molly has been a family dog and is good with children and cats. She is protective of family and home and lets strangers know it. She is housebroken and rides politely in the car. She is a good little leash walker -- very easy to handle. Molly needs to be the only dog in the family as she does not get along well with other dogs.
