The Pine Strawberry Water Improvement District approved its preliminary budget in April.
The budget's proposed expenditures are $104,950 less than last year.
A summary is as follows:
Operating Expenses $25,075
Financial Services $30,000
Legal Services $55,000
Exploration/Interest Expense $105,000
Public Election Fees $16,000
Total Expenses $231,075
The portion of the above expenses to be funded by the 2006/07 property tax levy is $46,200. For the 2005-2006 fiscal year, the district approved $336,025 in expenditures, with $215,340 to come from taxes.
The difference comes from a large carry-over the PSWID is expecting, according to Forrest McCoy, treasurer for the group.
"It will be approximately $200,000," McCoy said.
A public hearing to approve the final budget for next fiscal year will be held at 6:30 p.m. June 15 in the Pine Cultural Center, 3886 N. Highway 87 in Pine.
