2006 Spring Rodeo Parade Entries Due May 18

The Payson Pro Rodeo Committee is asking area clubs, organizations, churches, businesses and individuals to participate in its 2006 Spring Rodeo Parade -- the "Main Event."

The 2006 parade is possible through the sponsorship of Tom and Sandra Butler.

The parade begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 20. Entries are due by May 18.

There is a $20 entry fee for businesses, groups and individuals.

The entry fee is waived for nonprofits, schools and rodeo royalty.

This year there will be a $25 prize for the winner of each of the following categories:

  • walking, individual or group
  • motorized vehicle, individual or group
  • manual powered vehicle, individual or group
  • float, individual or group
  • floats, corporate
  • horses, individual- or group-mounted
  • horses, individual- or group-leading
  • other animals, individual or group

A $50 prize will be presented for "Best Overall," which will be the judges' choice of the entry that best exemplifies the spirit of the Spring Rodeo Parade. Prizes will be sent by mail. Entry forms are available at the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Payson Roundup office.

The parade starts at Green Valley Park, at the four-way intersection of Green Valley Parkway and Main Street, and will go east on Main to Colcord, just west of the chamber office.
