I am writing with deep concern about the decision-making capability of our school board. The recent situation with not renewing Peggy Miles' contract at Julia Randall Elementary only supports my beliefs that the school board is complacent when it comes to controversial issues. The school board is supposed to speak on behalf of the best interests of students, teachers and parents, and it appears that they have forgotten that role.
I have heard rumors of recalling the school board and hope that for the best interests of our children, specifically at JRE, the recall is a successful endeavor. Let's keep Peggy Miles at JRE and also put in place new school board members that remember to listen to the advice of the voters.
