Ballot processing is already under way to decide the Payson mayoral and town council races. Voters will also give a "yes" or "no" vote to Proposition 300, or Home Rule, which gives the Town of Payson control over its own budget rather than leaving it in the hands of the state of Arizona.
Vote counting began at 9 a.m. Monday and continues today until all votes are counted.
Preliminary results will be announced this evening at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 303 N. Beeline Highway.
The final count is expected at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 18.
If anyone has yet to vote, ballots should be walked to Town Hall.
The deadline is 7 p.m. tonight.
As soon as results are available, they will be posted on the Payson Roundup Web site, payson.com.
