The Daughters of the Gila County Pioneers are again selling a special package of Rim Country history.
The group has published its 2007 calendar, which features the musicians of Gila County and pays tribute to the Daughters' most recent Woman of the Year.
The Daughters' newest Woman of the Year is Sara Bell Holder Morris Jones.
The calendar features her life story and wonderful photographs of her and her family through the years.
While she has been a resident of the area since 1951, she can trace her family back to the Holders who settled in the area in the late 1800s. Her grandfather, John Holder, opened more post offices in Arizona than anyone.
Among the musicians and bands featured in the 2007 calendar are Josephine Packard, Garrels Massingill, C.M. Petty, the Gene Estes Band, Don Gibson, Ron Gibson, Lynell Corbett, Danny Corbett, Henry "Pappy" Haught, The Drifters, The VFW Musicians, the George Sanchez Band, the Sipie Martinez Big Band Sound, the Tonto Basin Band and Charlie McFarland.
The calendar also includes more than 20 different brands with a historical connection to Gila County.
Git-A-Rope Publishing put the calendar together it and printed it for the Daughters of the Gila County Pioneers.
The cost of the calendar is only $6, for more information, call (928) 474-2949.
