The Gila Community College Board needs the experience of "Dr. Al"!
As a resident of Payson, with a corporate technical center on Main Street, I have a strong interest in the quality of higher education available to our youth. Having served on the board of a major university, I have some knowledge of what it takes to make a college successful. After several discussions with Dr. Al Poskanzer, I am convinced that his qualifications for a position as a member of the community college board, District 1, make him the best choice.
Dr. Al's background includes experience in both business and in academia. He is under contract to the Arizona Department of Commerce to give seminars across the state in economic development. He has a keen understanding of Payson's needs in terms of work force development. This is perfect for the college, which is in bad need of work force development funding from the State of Arizona and Carl Perkins vocational programs funding from the Federal Government.
Dr. Al is in the best position to help justify this funding from both the state and federal governments. Dr. Al will request letters of support from local organizations to demonstrate matching funds that the state legislature would like to see in order to justify more funding form the state.
Dr. Poskanzer has demonstrated both his knowledge and enthusiasm by actually taking the time to talk with community leaders about our future needs and propose a definite plan to move Gila Community College forward.
We have rarely had such a clear choice in an election. Dr. Al Poskanzer is the candidate we need to elect to the Gila Community College board.
