Free Grant Writing Workshop Planned Nov. 21

After a year and half as a dispatcher for the Payson Police Department, Kevin Krogulski became the Town of Payson grants coordinator in June.

Since coming on board, he has received numerous requests for assistance from local nonprofit organizations.

While he is happy to provide advice, we keep Kevin pretty busy applying for town grants, which doesn't leave him much time to give outside help, said Town Manager Fred Carpenter.

"So we have decided to do the next best thing," Carpenter said.

From 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Nov. 21, in the Town Council chambers, Kevin Krogulski will host the Town of Payson's first annual grant-writing workshop for nonprofit organizations. Kevin has prepared an ambitious lineup of topics, including:

  • Grant writing versus fund raising
  • Selecting a project
  • Developing project budgets
  • The 12 characteristics of a good proposal
  • How to prepare a well-organized application
  • Targeting funding sources

Krogulski has a wealth of knowledge on these and other topics to share, along with contact information and informative handouts. And best of all, admission is free.

If this workshop sounds like it's for you, reserve your place by calling Krogulski at (928) 474-5242 ext 229 or e-mailing him at kkrogulski@, on or before Nov. 16.
