Artists Invited To Create Poster For Payson's 125th Anniversary

Oct. 5 and Oct. 6, 2007 have been set as the dates Payson will celebrate its 125th Anniversary. Organizers will be coordinating this event with the Western Heritage Festival.

To kick off the celebration, organizers have announced the 125th Anniversary Art/ Poster Contest. Anyone interested in creating a piece of art depicting Payson's 125 years of history is invited to submit their work of art between now and Jan. 31 to the Rim Country Museum at Green Valley Park. All artwork is to be rendered as a finished work (appropriate for judging). Winners will be notified in February.

All works of art submitted will be retained by the Historical Society for a silent auction to be completed Oct. 6, 2007.

The winning entry will be used to create a logo that will be used in all publications, press releases, banners, posters, etc. related to Payson's 125th Anniversary.

This piece of art will be kept and placed in Payson's Historical Museum as part of our continuing history.

Limited Edition Awards commemorating our 125th Anniversary will be given to the winners in their respective divisions.

Divisions are as follows: Adults 18 and older, high school students (grades 9-12); middle school students (grades 6-8); elementary students 1 (grades 4-5); elementary students 2 (grades K-3).
