The Payson High School Longhorn marching band earned the state's highest rating of "Superior" for their performance at the annual Arizona State Marching Festival Nov. 4 in Maricopa, Arizona.
Bands from throughout the state work all season long in order to qualify for the big event.
A superior rating is given when a performance is judged as the highest quality in both music and step.
Judges rate the bands in execution of the music, rhythm, dynamics, locking in the design, posture, and energy.
"I am so very proud of these students," said PHS music director Larry Potvin. "They have worked very hard. These students are the best."
