The Halloween Blast at the Tonto Apache Gym had a large turnout. The haunted house was filled with screams and chills. There were lots of activities, even for little ones who were too scared, or too young, to enter the haunted house.
We had a cakewalk, threw darts at the balloons, had a fishing pond, ring toss for sodas, a gooey-slime bucket for money and coins and photos. And, of course, we gave out lots of candy. We also gave out hot dogs, hamburgers and sodas.
Thank you to the Tonto Apache Tribe, Mazatzal Casino, and Pepsi Steve for their generous donations.
Also, thanks to Bashas' and Safeway for their contributions.
Daniel Waterman did a ghoulish design of the graveyard. I do think the ghost found a home for the night. It was scarier and more fun than last year.
I also would like to thank all the people that helped out. Kenny, Sophie and Craig Davis, Randy Pryor, Andretti, Candy and family, Harvey, B.J., Abie, Rosie, Vivian, Perry, Alex, Mary, Landis, Joe and Michelle, and all the others.
We need more help next year, which might be bigger and scarier. Chairman Ivan Smith says we may need a tent next year just to accommodate the many people who attended our fun night, which numbered well over a thousand.
More little monsters and princesses are invited to attend next year.
