Tyler Apps, 12, finished eighth in his age division at the Junior Golf Association of Arizona's annual Fall Classic held Nov. 5 at the Lake at Ahwatukee Golf Club.

There, he finished eighth overall, two places ahead of Thomas Lehman, son of U.S. Ryder Cup Captain and British Open Champion Tom Lehman.

A field of 29 aspiring golfers competed in the 11- to 12-year-old age division.

"It was a pretty deep field," said Tyler's father and coach Marc Apps. "The elder Lehman was at the tournament as a spectator."

In posting seven par scores on the 18-hole course, Tyler Apps carded a 75. The winner, Randy Ross, posted a 65.

On the U.S. Kids Phoenix Winter Tour, Apps shot a 79 to finish tied for second at a fray contested Nov. 12 at Encanto Golf Course.

Also, on the U.S. Kids circuit in a tournament played Nov. 3 at Maryvale Golf Course, Apps was fourth with a score of 80.

Next up, is a U.S. Kids showdown Dec. 2 at Aguila Golf Course. He also has upcoming tournament appearances scheduled at Superstition Springs, Vistal, Paradise Valley and Lone Tree Golf Club.
