Fire Department Party Great Way To Get Into Christmas Spirit

Don't forget the Christmas Party. On Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. is the fire department's Christmas Party. It is a potluck, so bring your favorite dish to share. If you want to get in the Christmas exchange game you will need to bring a $10 wrapped gift for each person playing the game. Come out and have some fun.

On Friday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. is the Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship Christmas Party. This is a potluck and they will be playing a game where you bring a $5 gift and wrap it so it is almost impossible to get it open. They play music and when it stops whoever can open it gets to keep it. This is a very nice Christmas party with entertainment from the kids and a lot of Christmas carols to sing along.

The food is great and so are the desserts. Bring along a friend. Everyone is welcome to attend, and if you cannot cook that's OK, there is always way too much food. Come out and meet your neighbors. It's a great way to get into the Christmas spirit.

The Christopher Creek Homeowners Association Children's Christmas Party is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 16, at 1 p.m. at the fire hall. Bring along a few canned goods because they will be making food boxes to distribute. Santa will be on hand to pass out stockings to all the good boys and girls. Cookies and refreshments will be served.

That same evening, meet back at the fire hall at 6 p.m. to go Christmas caroling through the community. Be sure to wear something warm; it is cold on the Christmas cart. Afterward, there will be cookies and hot chocolate served at the fire hall.

News from Christopher/Kohl's fire department

Phyllis Haddon and Charles Schillingburg recently became a volunteer and are in EMT school and moving on to get certified. John Pinnick and Shane Webb are already on the list to become wildfire fighter certified. Great job to all of you for your commitment to the Fire District.

I hope all of you had a happy Thanksgiving and didn't eat too much turkey. I wonder how many of you got up early to fight the crowds at the store.

Time to move on to the most wonderful holiday of the year "Christmas."
