Carrie Johnson of Strawberry was recently honored with two college scholarships. She was selected as the 2006-07 Arizona National Livestock Show Ambassador and received the "Arizona Is My Home" scholarship.
Johnson has been actively involved in Arizona Nationals agriculture since the age of nine.
She will spend the next year representing the Arizona National Livestock Show at various county fairs, industry events and serving as a spokesperson for the association and agriculture industry. In exchange she is receiving a $2,000 college scholarship.
The $2,500 "Arizona Is My Home" scholarship was created to promote and preserve Arizona's traditions, history, and rural lifestyle. Carrie Johnson was selected from a pool of over 800 applicants from across the nation. She is pursuing a degree in animal science with emphasis in reproduction at the University of Arizona.
Johnson is a 2001 graduate of Payson High School. Her parents are Wayne and Kathleen Johnson of Strawberry.
