Wilma Fay Lynch, of Pine, died Nov. 24, 2006 at the age of 96. She was born in El Dorado, Okla. on June 17, 1910.
She was no stranger to hard work, picking cotton when she was only 6 and panning for gold as a new bride and raising a family in difficult conditions.
She was a faithful church member, teaching Sunday school in her home when no church was available.
She and her husband moved to Pine in 1969 from Phoenix and she became involved in starting the First Baptist Church of Pine. She was the last surviving charter member.
Mrs. Lynch was preceded in death by her parents, 17 brothers and sisters, and her husband of 54 years, William Elmer Lynch.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ann Jamison of Pine; son, William Dwaine Lynch of Phoenix; and stepson, Jack Lynch of Santa Rosa, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29 at the First Baptist Church of Pine.
