Genevieve (Karcz) Wojcik, 87, of Payson, died Sept. 24, 2006. She was born a first-generation American on June 10, 1919, in Detroit, Mich., to Polish immigrants Thomas and Caroline Karcz.
Mrs. Wojcik and her husband moved to Payson on a friend's suggestion in 1992, and loved it so much that they resided there until her death.
She was an active member of Tonto Community Concert Association, Payson Senior Center, Payson Senior Circle and Payson Center of Spiritual Awareness.
She loved music, dancing, swimming, aerobics, and reading.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond, who was the love of her life for nearly 65 years; their five children, Jacqueline (Ralph) Waibel, Raymond (Zetta) Thomas, Katherine Moore, David Robert and Jeannine (Stephen) Chont; her sister, Stefania Zielinski; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 at Payson's Center for Spiritual Awareness, 107 W. Wade Lane.
