It is too late to register to vote in the November general election -- the last day to put your name on the voter list was Oct. 9. However, early ballots are available and can be submitted now.
Through Oct. 27, early ballots will be mailed to those who request them. Any registered voter may obtain an early ballot from the Gila County Recorder's Office by calling (928) 425-3231 ext. 8730, (928) 472-5340 ext. 8730, or (928) 474-7139.
Early ballots returned by mail, should be sent by Thursday, Nov. 2 in order to reach the recorder in time to be counted in the Nov. 7 general election. Early ballots may also be returned by hand to the recorder's office by 7 p.m. on Election Day. They may also be dropped off at any polling place between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Publicity pamphlets on the candidates for office and the ballot propositions have been mailed to registered voters. If you did not receive the pamphlets and would like to obtain them, call the county recorder, visit the Payson branch office at 201 W. Frontier St., or go online to the Secretary of State's Web site, www.azsos.gov.
