Renzi To Be Honored For Pro-Business Voting Record

On Wednesday, Dick Castner, a representative from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will present Congressman Rick Renzi with the U.S. Chamber's Spirit of Enterprise Award for his strong support for a pro-economic growth legislative agenda in the first session of the 109th Congress.

The honor will be presented in front of the members of the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce at noon Wednesday, Oct. 11, in Room 300 at Gila Community College, 210 N. Mud Springs Road.

The annual award is given to members of Congress whose overall voting records during the congressional session is pro-business 70 percent or more of the time.

"Rick is a leader who has fought for legislation to spur job creation, increase productivity and keep our economy growing," said Castner, U.S. Chamber executive director for the Western region. "We're proud to present him with this award on behalf of America's businesses, both large and small."

"We are honored to have this award presented to Congressman Renzi during his visit to Payson and Rim Country," said Tina Bruess, executive director of the Rim Country chamber.

The meeting is open to chamber members and their employees.

After a brief presentation and update from Renzi, chamber members will be allowed to participate in a question-and-answer session.
