There are two new scholarship programs available to Arizonans.

The Corporate Tuition Tax Credit scholarship program is similar to the individual Credit for Kids' program. CTTC allows corporations to make donations and receive a dollar for dollar credit on their income taxes. The scholarship money is for low income pupils to seek a maximum of $4,200 -- elementary, $5,500 -- secondary, to transfer to the private school of their choice.

The Arizona Scholarships for Pupils with Disabilities is a $2.5 million program funded by the state. Pupils with an individual education plan for their disabilities may apply for scholarships to attend the public or private school of their choice.

A third scholarship program, effective in 2007, is for children who have been in foster care at any time prior to high school graduation. The Displaced Persons program is funded with $2.5 million and gives the first 500 children who qualify up to $5,000 to attend the private school of their choice.

Parents should contact their school of interest for details on applying for any of these scholarship funds. Call (877) 970-2400 or visit www.allianceforschoolchoice.org.
