Adoption Event Saturday At Dog Day In The Park

The Payson Humane Society is holding a pet adoption event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 at the off-leash dog park next to the library on North McLane Road. The event is just part of the festivities at the annual Dog Day in the Park celebration.

Several dogs will be available for adoption. They will be spayed or neutered, have all current shots, and will have a microchip for identification.

The shelter is very overcrowded with dogs right now; we desperately need to find homes for these great dogs. Come meet your new best friend!

Hunter is a 1-year-old male chow mix. He's very friendly and ready to go for a ride with anyone who asks him. He walks well on the leash and is good with other dogs. He's not aggressive with cats. Hunter knows how to sit, lie down, and roll over. He's had some housebreaking training. Hunter does like to roam, and needs a secure home and yard. If you're "hunting" for a good companion, Hunter may be the one for you.

Howdy! My name is Kirby. I'm an 8-month-old male Queensland heeler mix. I don't mean to brag, but I'm very intelligent.

Being fairly small, I'm pretty easy to handle. I could use some training, but I'm eager to learn. I'm friendly, loveable and good with other dogs. Cats are OK, too. I sure would love to find a loving, forever home. Why don't you give me a try?

What a pretty "Lady" this 2-year-old female shepherd mix is! She's very friendly and interested in everything around her. She needs some training, especially with walking on the leash. Being exuberant, she's probably better in a house with no small children. Lady is content to play alone with her toys, though she releases them willingly to people. Lady loves to play with other dogs, too. She's looking for a loving, forever home. How about yours?

Hi, I'm Ranger! I'm a big, handsome male lab/shepherd mix. Being only 1 year old and lively, I still need work on my walking-on-a-leash skills. I do know how to sit, though, and am eager to learn more.

I love people, and I'm not aggressive with cats. Due to my size, it might be better if you had only older children in your family. I sure would love a new, forever home. How about giving me a try?

Tess is a 1-year-old female Australian shepherd mix. She is very sweet, loving and friendly. She has an "inquiring mind," always interested in everything around her. Tess is good with other dogs and not aggressive with cats. She's had some house training. She needs some work with walking on the leash and other commands, but she's very smart and will learn quickly. Tess would like to join an active family which would give her lots of love and exercise. How about yours?
