Traffic Slow-Down Plan Still Under Review

With few items on the agenda, the Payson Town Council adjourned after 45 minutes Thursday evening.

Vice Mayor Tim Fruth asked the council to table its decision to vote on a comprehensive traffic-calming plan submitted by Public Works Engineer LaRon Garrett. Fruth said the council needs more time to study the policy.

The council voted unanimously to send the policy, which included the implementation of traffic-slowing speed humps, back to the town's surface transportation advisory committee for reworking.

The council also approved $83,000 for the design portion of the half-mile St. Phillips Street/Bonita Street/Frontier Street/Bentley Street improvement project.

The next regular town council meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2.
