Habitat Half Marathon Saturday


Curtis James Beckel, a Frontier Elementary School student, was the winning artist in the Habitat for Humanity 5K walk/run T-shirt design contest. On Friday, Oct. 20, his class was awarded a pizza party for having the winning student.

Payson's Rim Country Challenge half marathon, 5K walk/run, and Young Athletes' Fun Run all begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct 28 in the Mazatzal Casino parking lot.

A spaghetti dinner will be held for participants the night before, Friday, Oct 27 in the Rim Country Middle School cafeteria from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children.

Race application forms are available at the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce, Payson Parks and Recreation office in Green Valley Park, Payson Athletic Club, Payson Public Library and the Payson Area Habitat for Humanity office.

Registration will be available in the Mazatzal Casino parking lot before the race begins.

Native American art will be presented as awards to the top finishers in each age bracket.
