Star Valley Council To Discuss Permanent Town Manager Position

The Star Valley Council tonight will discuss the employment of a permanent town manager in an executive session.

Interim Town Manager Lanny Sloan has been working on a temporary contract since the council hired him in March of this year to oversee the town's incorporation.

Sloan, whose contract ends on the last day of September, has informed the council that he would like to be considered for the permanent position.

The town council has set aside $52,000 for this position in the 2006-2007 fiscal-year budget.

The Star Valley council will also discuss an intergovernmental agreement with Gila County for election services for the town, as well as adopting an ordinance to change the time the council meets from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The council will also discuss and possibly decide on selecting a person to provide building safety services, including permitting, plan review and inspections.

The council tonight will hold a work session at 4:30 p.m., with its regular meeting being at 6 p.m. at 4180 E. Highway 260 at the Star Valley Southern Baptist Church.
