Most people are drawn to Dirty Neck Canyon simply by the name. It sounds like an adventure, and it is.
This is not a hike for beginners. Several downed trees make the hike more of an obstacle course than a walk in the woods.
Dirty Neck is one of the most diverse canyons in the area when it comes to terrain and plant life.
To get there, follow Highway 87 through Pine and Strawberry. You will pass the junction of highways 87 and 260. Continue another four miles. You will see a sign for FSR 300. Do not take this road. Turn right at the next dirt road. Follow the dirt road for a mile until you see a metal cattle corral on your left. Park here and follow the trail three miles in and three miles back.
