James Robert (Jim) Welker, 37, son of Bob and Betty Welker of Payson, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006 in Prescott.

Mr. Welker was a graduate of Payson High School, attended Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, and served a two-year mission in England for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He and his wife and family lived in Prescott Valley for the past 10 years.

Mr. Welker was active in the Boy Scouts of America and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He was active in his church and held many different positions.

He was also a Little League baseball coach and youth basketball coach.

He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish and hunt.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; three sons, Brinton, age 12; Dylan, 9; and Jace, 1; three daughters, Kerriann, age 8; Kayli, 4; and Emma, 17 months; five brothers and four sisters.

Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8 at the Sunrise Mortuary, 8167 E. Highway 69 in Prescott Valley. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 at the Prescott Valley chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 7885 E. Long Look Drive in Prescott Valley.
