Mary Etta Gay, 87, of Payson, died Sept. 6, 2006 in Payson.
She was born to Alvin and Dora Coker on Nov. 1, 1918 in Marquez, Texas.
She married Wilton Kenneth Gay on July 2, 1936. They were ranchers in Texas until they moved to Arizona in 1946.
Both Kenneth and Mary worked for a short time at Arizona State College in Tempe. They went into business for themselves in 1954 and owned Gay Plumbing in Tempe until they retired to Payson in 1972.
Mrs. Gay is survived by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth "Beth" (Mitch) Drobniewski; sons, Wayne (Cheryl) Gay and Larry (Antonette) Gay; brother, Paul Coker; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Kenneth Gay; and son, David Lynn Gay.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, Sept. 9 at First Southern Baptist Church, 302 S. Ash in Payson. Interment will be at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park in Payson. A luncheon will follow at Larry Gay's in Star Valley.
