Fire Department Will Help Change Detector Batteries

Life is too short to deal with:

  • Plastic wrap that won't tear off and when it does, immediately clings to itself, aluminum foil that sticks on one end of the roll, and storage bags that take forever to zip shut
  • Safety bottle caps that are impossible for arthritic fingers to open, much less close again
  • Drivers who, when the road sign says "merge" stay in the outside lane or on the shoulder until the last possible moment and then think they are entitled to squeeze in ahead of everyone else
  • Singers who feel they must stylize "The Star Spangled Banner" instead of singing it the way it was written

Did you ever wonder why smoke alarm batteries always seem to expire in the wee hours of the morning? If it has been more than a year since the batteries have been changed in your smoke alarms, here's some helpful news for seniors: the Payson Fire Department will change them for you free of charge. Call (928) 474-5242 for more information.
