Payson Must Commit To Solving Affordable Housing Problem

Congratulations to the Payson Roundup for receiving a Housing Hero award from the Arizona Department of Housing at the Governor's 2006 Housing Forum. Affordable housing is such a critical issue statewide and is especially acute in Payson. The Roundup's six-part series on affordable housing in Payson has been a catalyst for discussion and hopefully will be a springboard for action to provide adequate housing for our work force and low income, elderly and families. The currently convened task force is one example of the needed action. Hopefully, the public will become involved with a commitment to solve this problem.

Our community needs to address this issue to preserve our quality of life in the services we need and want. If the workers we depend on can't obtain adequate housing, they can't be here to provide the services our community needs.

Thanks to the Roundup for bringing this issue to our attention. So Payson, let's do what we need to solve our problem.
