Advertising Helped Relieve Shelter Overcrowding

The Payson Humane Society would like to thank the Payson Roundup and area businesses and organizations for the wonderful full-page ad which ran in the Aug. 4 edition of the newspaper. This advertised our "Monsoon Sale" at the shelter, which was held due to severe overcrowding in our facility. Seventeen of the animals featured in the ad have been adopted as of the end of the sale, Aug. 31.

Thanks to the following sponsors of the ad: Town of Payson, Chaparral Pines, Tall Pines Real Estate, Blue Ribbon Auto Sales, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Reality Executives, APS, Diana Easton, D.O., Main Street Grille, Wantland and Sons Construction, PostNet, Blue's Gallery, Bedrooms & More, Energy West, Legacy Home Furnishings, Cedar Ridge, Rim Sight and Sound, Payson Regional Medical Center, Mazatzal Casino, Stockmen's Bank, Shepherd's Glass, ERA Young Realty, Payson Athletic Club, Payson Care Center, Tonto Apache Tribe, The Rim Golf Club, Moose Mountain and Moose Mart Antique Mall, ACE, Clippers Mobile Dog Grooming, RE/MAX, Shreeve Roofing, Sunny Mountain Realty, Chapman Auto Center, Anderson Dental Group, Shaggy Dog's Place, Too, Rim Country Cellular and Computech.

Thanks also to the radio stations, KMOG, KRIM, and KCMA, which ran PSAs announcing the sale and encouraging people to adopt shelter animals.

Many of the fine animals featured in the ad are still waiting for loving homes, and additional animals have come into the shelter, replacing those that were adopted. We're still very overcrowded, but the situation would have been much worse without the assistance provided by the media in this town. Payson Humane Society is indeed blessed to have such wonderful support and friends like this who we can count on in a time of crisis.

Barbara Brenke, President, Board of Directors, Payson Humane Society
