Q: Do night noises in the Payson and the Rim area include tree frogs?

A: "Yes, there are two kinds of frogs that would be heard, especially during the monsoon season," Duke Klein, wildlife biologist with the Payson Ranger District.

With a voice that sounds like a rivet gun, the canyon tree frog has the most distinctive voice, Klein said. The voice of the mountain tree frog is not quite as distinctive.
