James W. Lipnitz died Sept. 27, 2006 in Voorhees, N.J. He was born Jan. 30, 1920.
Mr. Lipnitz was an electrical engineer with General Electric and with ITE before retiring in 1981. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was a 1952 graduate of Syracuse University School of Engineering; a member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers; a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars; and a member of China, Burma, India Veterans Association.
He was a contributing author of the book "Rim Country History" and a co-founder of the Northern Gila County Historical Society.
Mr. Lipnitz is survived by his children, Phyllis (Stanley) Musser, Barbara Hux, Michael (Carol) Lipnitz, Kenneth (Arlene) Lipnitz, Loretta (Jan) Smith, Dorothy DiVito, Jeffrey (Elaine) Lipnitz, Catherine Lipnitz, Donald (Angelica) Lipnitz, Christopher (Judy) Lipnitz and Theresa Lipnitz; a brother of Wanda Waldeck and Lynn (Donna) Lipnitz. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (nee Vokoviak) Lipnitz and a daughter, Julia (Ernest) Cliett.
Viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1 at Platt Memorial Chapels, Inc. 2001 Berlin Road, Cherry Hill, N.J. 08003-3794.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, White Horse Pike & Evesham Roads, Magnolia, NJ. Interment will be at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
