Thanks To All Who Made Fool's Day Fun Event A Success

The Northern Gila County Alliance Against Substance Abuse Coalition would like to thank all the participants, presenters, and donors for our "Start Talking Before They Start Drinking: Fool's Day Fun" event on March 31. It was a huge success for the community and we were able to meet our goal of parents talking to their children about the dangers of underage drinking.

We would especially like to thank the following local businesses who, without their financial and material support, we would not have been able to provide such a wonderful and educational event.

We want to thank Ace Hardware, Big O Tire, Cenpatico Behavioral Health, Chili's, Chrisy's Cottage, Colorz (Susie Hill), Cookie Cutters (Betty Dixon and Karen Sawyer), Eastern Arizona College, Guardo's, Dairy Queen, Fireside Espresso, Foxworth Galbraith, Mazatzal Casino, Payson General Rental, Payson Ice, Payson Kiwanis, Pepsi, Pine Creek Fudge, Pizza Hut, Rim Country Lanes, Safeway, Soroptimist, Sparkletts, Strawberry Lodge, Sunny Mountain Realty, Walgreens and Wal-Mart.

We would also like to thank our partners who helped share information to our participants about the dangers of underage drinking: Allstate Insurance/Dee Wesley, Payson Police Department, Lori Martinez, LISAC, Payson Unified School District, Arizona Children's Association, SADD Students and DJ Craig.

And, finally, thanks to Southwest Behavioral Health/Rim Guidance Center, whose staff planned and coordinated the event and provided many volunteers for the event.
