The Payson Regional Medical Center's Senior Circle program will be eight years old on Wednesday.
To celebrate the anniversary of the program, an open house is planned at the facility from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
There will be food, a raffle, give-aways, and closed bids for a used Red Rascal Scooter will be taken (a minimum bid of $250 is being requested).
The open house is a great time to learn about all the services and benefits offered by the Senior Circle. It provides opportunities health education and socializing, new friendships and fellowship.
The Circle is part of a national organization sponsored by hospitals belonging to Community Health Systems, the parent company of PRMC. So, among its benefits are discounts and upgrades on a variety of medical services, plus access to medical supplies for home care and recovery through the Circle's Medical Loan Closet.
The Circle's health education program includes the opportunity to hear from the area's health care providers.
"Doctors are seeking us out to participate," said Kathy Coombes, volunteer coordinator for the Circle.
The Senior Circle is committed to enriching the lives of adults age 50 and over. When you join Senior Circle for just $15 per person, or $27 per couple, your annual membership offers a generous selection of valuable discounts, activities and events, exercise and wellness classes, a chapter newsletter and national publication subscription, in-hospital privileges, reciprocal privileges and much more.
Through April 27, those 50 and older may join the Senior Circle and get the discount on use of the Tonto Apache Tribe's pool and exercise facility. A Circle membership provides a three-month fitness center access pass for only $42.
According to Sue Beckwith, a volunteer with the Senior Circle, a fitness center is normally $35 per month.
The fitness center membership includes use of the heated, indoor pool, water aerobics classes, a hot tub spa, closed sauna rooms, weight room, machine-and-exercise room, a basketball court and showers.
The Senior Circle mission is to encourage the healthiest, most active lifestyle possible through meaningful education, wellness, health, volunteer opportunities and social activities at the Payson Regional Medical Center and throughout the community, while providing a forum for fellowship, valuable member-only discounts and privileges.
The Senior Circle program represents the hospital's commitment to meet the needs of seniors by providing them with opportunities to continue to live the healthiest, most fulfilling lives possible. It is the goal of PRMC and the Senior Circle to offer seniors in the community an outlet where they can participate in activities and share common interests with other seniors, while at the same time promoting health and wellness.
