Yvonne Lorena (Evans) Jackson died April 22, 2007.
She was born Oct. 1, 1925 in Cardin, Okla., the sixth of seven children born to Mark and Bessie (Bridgewater) Evans.
Mrs. Jackson was a Payson area resident since 1969.
She will be remembered by many for her kindness, generosity, strong work ethic and humor.
Mrs. Jackson was a parishioner of the Star Valley Baptist Church and was an active member of the HOPES and a lifetime member of the Payson Rodeo Committee.
During her life, Mrs. Jackson worked for Boeing National Defense, as a telephone operator with Mountain Bell, and was a partner of Rim Country Insurance for more than 20 years.
Additionally, she steadfastly volunteered her time for several organizations including the NCO Wives Club, the American Red Cross and the American Legion.
Mrs. Jackson loved to travel and explored most of the U.S. and Europe, and attended such events as the Olympics, Super Bowl and Mardi Gras.
She was the mother to four children, Evan (deceased) (Kathy) Henson of Payson, Karl (Tammie) Henson of Show Low, Kerry (Linda) Henson of Mesa and Karyl (Jeff) Richards of Anchorage, Alaska; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Helen-Louise Cox of Fountain Valley, Calif. and Geraldine (Jeri) Davis of Payson.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 27 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home.
A memorial service in her honor will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 28 at the Star Valley Baptist Church. The family welcomes anyone who wishes to speak at the memorial service to do so.
There will be fellowship and refreshments after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society or the HOPES.
