Born Dorothy Helen Bartholomew Felker March 25, 1926 in upstate New York, Mrs. Felker died April 15, 2007 in Payson.
She received an AA degree from Miami University of Ohio, then moved to New York City to work for American Airlines.
She married "the boy next door," Charles W. Sekol in Rochester, N.Y. They lived in Clearwater, Fla., Pittsford N.Y. and Worthington, Ohio as she raised their three children.
After her divorce, Mrs. Felker moved to San Diego, but chose Payson to retire to in 1991.
She was very active in her adopted community, serving on the activity committee at the Payson Senior Citizens Center, performing with the Senior Line Dancers, working as a docent at the Rim Country Museum and as a volunteer for Tonto Community Concerts. She also sang with the Praise Team and was a member of the Altar Guild at her church.
Mrs. Felker is survived by her husband, Herb, whom she married in 1999, as well as her children, Jan Swanson, Scott Sekol and Carole Graeber, two stepdaughters, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., June 2 at Mt. Cross Lutheran Church in Payson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to RTA Hospice of Payson.
