The diverse work of metal artist April Bowers will be featured at this month's meeting of the Payson Art League.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the Rim Country Health and Retirement Community, 807 W. Longhorn Rd.
A social reception with refreshments begins at 6:30 p.m. with the presentation and business meeting following.
Bowers will be demonstrating a watercolor technique using rice paper at the meeting. She also is skilled in jewelry making and has developed a patina painting technique using chemicals and oxides on thin copper sheeting.
She has a bachelor's in fine arts in ceramics/crafts and has taken annual workshops with nationally recognized artists. The meetings are open to the public.
