Wearing Pink Helps Local Health Program

Are you a cowboy tough enough to don pink Western wear for a rodeo?

A couple of hundred cowboys wore pink to the 2007 Spring Rodeo and the Aug. 2005 Rodeo, so the Payson Rodeo Committee knows you are out there.

There will be a "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" promotion at this year's rodeo throughout the three days of festivities.

A $1 per person contribution will be made by the rodeo to the Healthy Woman Program, for each person, including cowboys, wearing pink clothing or pink accessories at the Friday night performance.

Healthy Woman is a free community resource provided by the Payson Regional Medical Center.

HW hosts frequent health seminars and events. The program's goal is to arm women with the abilities to take charge of their health and their families.

There will be a special feature for area families and the Healthy Woman Program or visit paysonhospital.com.

A variety of pink specialty items will also be for sale at the Friday night performance, should rodeo-goers decide at the last minute they are tough enough for pink attire. The items include hats, bracelets and bandanas.

Chrisy's Cottage in Payson has 20 percent off pink clothing and accessories starting Wednesday.

"I have tons of pink apparel," owner Chrisy Wickstrom said.
