Skate contest and concert
"Day of Reckoning 2007," a skate contest and concert will be held from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 18 at the Payson Skate Park at Rumsey Park.
The featured guest skater for the evening will be David Caleb.
Also appearing will be Infairverona and Your Machine.
There will be free food, a "Fear Factor" contest and prizes.
The Payson Christian Ministerial Fellowship sponsors the event.

AWANA Clubs begin
The AWANA Clubs will begin Aug. 20 at First Baptist Church of Pine.
The schedule is:
3 p.m., Sparks for children in kindergarten through second grade
6 p.m., T&T, Trek and Journey 24-7 for children in third grade through 12th grade
AWANA is from II Timothy 2:15 "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed."
Women's Bible Study resumes
The Payson Women's Community Bible Study, The Acts of the Apostles with small group discussion and teaching will have a kickoff potluck brunch and overview of study, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13 and continuing Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. through May 2008.
The study book is $25. Child care is available.

Buddhist group takes break
The Payson Tibetan Buddhist Study and Meditation Group has suspended its Monday evening meetings at the Payson Center for Spiritual Awareness until Sept. 24. Please call (928) 468-1387 for additional information. We hope to see you when we resume our regular meetings at the end of September.
