If you are one of the fortunate, you have had the tremendous pleasure of eating dutch oven biscuits with or without cowboy gravy, a stew or roast beef made in a dutch oven or possibly a fruit cobbler. And if you are truly blessed you have experienced these delicacies prepared in the coals of a fire made in camp on a hunting or fishing trip.
Nothing compares.
Now you can learn the magic of dutch oven cooking from the experts in a special Dutch Oven Cooking Class presented by the Payson Parks and Recreation Department during the weekend of the Northern Gila County Fair.
The class will be from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 8. Participants will learn to prepare everything from bread to casseroles.
Register online at www.paysonparks.com or stop by the Parks office at Green Valley Lake. The cost is $25 per person.
