I was distressed over writers complaining about how inhumane Payson's annual rodeo is perceived to be. So let's switch off "Animal Planet," and get down to the nitty gritty of the situation.
The Bible tells us that they (humans) will "have power over the fish, the birds, and all animals, domestic and wild, large and small."
This is not to say that humans are like sheep, where one goes off the cliff and the rest follow. Rather, people were given the brainpower to choose for themselves.
I think it's time for these anti-rodeo people to go outdoors and smell the cowboy's coffee. You won't know what the cowboy's life is like, until you've walked a mile in his own boots. What do cowboys do? They cowboy!
So partner, let's all look forward to the bigger and better rodeo we'll have the next time one arrives in town.
Hats off to Payson.
