Members of the Webelos Den of Cub Scout Pack 7354, sponsored by Mt. Cross Lutheran Church, have begun their Holiday Season Community Service Project, which is to provide a lap blanket for each senior at Payson's two care centers, Payson Care and Rim Country.

It is a large undertaking, requiring more than 220 lap blankets, one each for the residents of both facilities.

All of the lap blankets will have name tags sewn on them and they will be presented to the residents during the pack's caroling tour, which will be conducted on Dec. 20.

All of the Cub Scouts will be involved, from the Tiger Scouts (age 6) to the Webelos (ages 9-10). The Webelos have focused on this as their Community Service Project to help them earn their citizenship badges. This is becoming a good learning experience for the boys.

You may see the Cub Scouts around town seeking donations to help cover the cost of this project.

The estimated cost for this project is $1,200 and any personal or business donations, are greatly appreciated and they're tax-deductible. If you have any questions or can offer us assistance, call the Scotts at 474-3559.
