Why do you teach? I teach because I love children and love to see their excitement when they discover something new and their satisfaction when they have done their best. They also maintain humor in my life. They always say such funny things. I hope to be a positive influence and an impact on their lives.

Personal motto / words of wisdom: Life is 10 percent what happens and 90 percent your reaction to it.

Family: Husband of almost 26 years -- Kraig, daughter Jilleen is a senior at ASU, son Matthew is a freshman at Eastern Arizona College and daughter Kaitie is 12-years-old.

Pet peeve: I love to see children being respectful to their parents and other adults. I feel that respectfulness is a quality that permeates all aspects of our lives.

Favorite hobby or leisure activity: I enjoy reading, playing the piano and spending time with my family. I also enjoy scrapbooking and traveling , but I haven't had much time to do these things.

Person in history you'd most like to meet and why: I would like to meet Esther because she saved her nation from annihilation, risking her own life. She was a very brave woman who relied on her faith. Her people wrote the Bible.

Why Payson? My husband's job brought us here. We enjoy the clean air and beautiful trees.

In school, who was your favorite teacher and why? Actually, my favorite teacher was my piano teacher, Mrs. Lottanbach. I rode my bike to her house after school for lessons. She was a very caring lady, very encouraging and positive.

What was your favorite subject in school and why? I like reading and I still do. Classes that allowed for creativity like art and music were fun. Even though I wasn't particularly fond of math, it is now my favorite subject to teach.

What was your favorite year in school and why? My junior and senior years of high school were probably my favorites. I was very active in the school choir, sports and pep squad.

Featured teachers will recieve a gift certificate from Chili's Restuaurant in Payson.
